There are many beliefs
about how a person gets into Heaven when they die. The majority of people envision a huge scale in which their life’s deeds are weighed. They feel that as long as the good outweighs the bad, the scale will tip in their favor and they will be permitted into Heaven. Unfortunately, that is not the case. There is no scale in Heaven. The truth is that God is holy and demands holiness. He is perfect and demands perfection. In 1 Peter 1:16 we read, ...Be ye holy; for I am holy.
Perfection sets the bar too high for all of us. Every one of us would have to admit that it’s much easier to do wrong than to do right. We may tell ourselves that, overall, we are good, but still we would have to admit that we are not perfect.
There is not a scale made that measures perfection. There are no levels of perfection. You are either perfect or you are not.
Therefore, there is no scale in Heaven weighing our deeds to determine our value before God. We can’t just get in by the skin of our teeth. The standard is too high. Our hope is not found in a scale, but a Saviour.
Jesus left the comforts of Heaven to walk the dusty trails of Galilee. He experienced the sorrow, grief and heartache of a sin sick world and endured the agony and anguish of a cruel Cross. He suffered upon that cross, hanging between Heaven and Earth in order to provide an escape for all mankind. He suffered for your sin, so that you wouldn’t have to.
1 Peter 2:21, Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
You can be forgiven and cleansed of every sin you have ever committed and will ever commit. Jesus’ blood can wash your sin away, and only Jesus’ blood can make you righteous in the sight of a Holy God.
Colossians 1:14, In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
There is hope today for the most wicked sinner. That hope is not found in a scale that weighs the deeds of mankind, but in a Saviour, Jesus Christ, who washes sin away.
If you want to be in Heaven when you die, you must allow Christ to forgive your sin. You do that by believing on Him.
John 3:16, For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
It will not be a scale tipping in your favor, but the Saviour that will get you into Heaven one day.
Simply Pray:
“Lord I am a sinner, forgive me for my sin. I believe that you died for me and rose again that I might be saved. Right now, I accept you as my Saviour and payment for sin. Come into my life and save me. I trust you alone to get me to Heaven when I die. Thank you. Amen”
